Details

This project was my final submission for Core 2: Typography Studio during the Spring 2022 semester. The prompt of this project was to use readings from the Spring 2022 semester and make it in a book with minimum page 50 pages. We also had to print the book and perfect bound it ourselves in the Parsons Design Lab.

Ideation

The idea was to compile readings about the internet which portrayed its good and bad sides. I also did the vinyl cutter orientation at the Parsons Design Lab and decided to add a sticker sheet in my book. I also wanted to use cream paper to add a somewhat vintage touch and at the same time use a modern sans-serif typeface, to highlight the irony.

Since the internet is a touchy subject for many, with many people defending its use and at the same time, many people attacking it. I wanted the cover to resemble a "camouflage" as the internet can very conveniently blend its identity.

Execution

The cover of the book is made of a single tabloid sized thick paper with light green cover. The book primarily uses Paralucent typeface with a proper and rigid grid system. The book also consists of a sticker sheet which I made using vinyl cutters and has Internet Archive stickers.
